My heart is broken into pieces
You were born whilst still asleep;
You've taken my heart with you
It's yours for you to keep.

You are my little treasure
And will always be close to me;
As you are locked away
For ever in my memory.

As I look upon the daisies
That flower all around;
You are like that now in heaven
With the angels above the ground.

I woke up this morning and there you were
The first thing I thought of was you;
Because today is a special day
We all say Goodbye to you.

You stayed asleep when you were born
You never saw how beautiful you were;
We've been sad these last few days
For us it's all been a blur.

There will be times as time rolls on
That we will want to come and sit;
Just to be near you now'n'again
Have a natter and get close again-a bit.

We will plant daisies in remembrance of you
They will flower everywhere;
So for now it is "We'll meet you later on"
Till then you will be in all our prayers

Mother of the Mother

It's been the hardest thing to watch
My baby going through this pain;
Of giving birth to her baby
Only to let her go again.

The pain is way beyond belief
Not known to most of us;
So please God watch over her
Ease her through her grief and bless.

How can you make sense to a father that his child has died
How can you give a reason why she wasn't born alive;
Why would God give life then snatch it away
Before your child has survived for even a day.

Taken with that tiny baby is a part of you
That will stay with you forever no matter what you do;
And when that grieving father is your own child
You ache for them both as your own grief you put to one side.

We held you in our arms
For a short time that is true;
You won our hearts and our love
We will always remember you.

The angels are with you
By your side they will always be;
Your soul flies on and stays with them
And you will always be free.

There are some things you just treasure
A new baby in the fold;
You stayed asleep though here on earth
We're glad we had a hold.

That little life
Meant to be so big;
I can't bear
Your shallow grave to dig.

The pain is great
The grief to much;
In my dreams I will
Always reach for you to touch.

Know that my spirit
Will guide and my prayers;
The angels by your side
Until I come upstairs.

You will always be thought of
Each and everyday
As I believe you will still be playing
And that this is what you'd say

To my mummy dearest, I wish I could've stayed
But my soul plans were set to differ
I'm okay and now feel well
But if I'd stayed my heart murmered!

So lift up your hearts and sing to me
That your love will always be;
That's all I'll ever need to know
Because up here in heaven I will still be able to grow.

Angel without wings lying in my arms,
as I look down upon your face.
You have an aura all your own.
Peacefully your spirit begins
to join with mine
and I know that we will never be alone.

In a baby castle, just beyond your eye,
Your baby plays with angel toys that money cannot buy.
Who are you to wish him back into this world of strife,
No, play on your baby, he'll have eternal life.
At night when all is silent and sleep forsakes your eyes,
You'll hear his tiny footsteps come running to your side
His little hands caress you so tenderly and sweet,
You'll breathe a prayer and close your eyes and embrace him in your sleep.
Now you have a treasure that you rate above all others
You have known true glory,
You are still his mother.

The world may never notice
If a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
Or even pause to wonder
If the petals fall too soon.

But every life that ever forms,
Or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way
For all eternity.

The little one we longed for
Was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted
Is a light that still shines on.

And though our arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do.
Every beating of our hearts
Says that we love you.

She was so very, very special
And was so from the start
You held her in your arms
But mainly in your heart

And like a single drop of rain
That on still waters fall,
Her life did ripples make
And touched the lives of all.

She's gone to play with angels
In heaven up above
So keep your special memories
And treasure. them with love

Although your darling son, daughter, grandchild
Was with you just a while
He'll (She'll) live on in your heart
With a sweet remembered smile

Baby Funeral Poems
An angel wrote in the Book of Life
My (Your) baby's date of birth
Then whispered as she closed the book
"Too beautiful for Earth"

Sometimes, when the sun goes down,
It seems it will never rise again…
but it will!
Sometimes, when you feel alone,
It seems your heart will break in two…
but it won’t.
And sometimes, it seems
It’s hardly worthwhile carrying on…
But it is.
For sometimes, when the sun goes down,
It seems it will never rise again,
But it does

Indian prayer
When I am dead
Cry for me a little
Think of me sometimes
But not too much
Think of me now and again
As I was in life
At some moments it’s pleasant to recall
But not for long
Leave me in peace
And I shall leave you in peace
And while you live
Let your thoughts be with the living

Epitaph upon a child that died
Here she lies, a pretty bud,
Lately made of flesh and blood:
Who as soon fell fast asleep
As her little eyes did peep
Give her strewings, but did not stir
The earth that lightly covers her.
Robert Herrick
