As a great sadness overcomes me
About a great love that was lost;
Taking bit by bit to pieces
All the pain and at what cost.

No children yet to speak of
Another difference that's now changed;
I never wanted any as my work
Is my life and it's all arranged.

They say if it hurts
Then it isn't love;
Am I an addict
Or stay and just sort of.

Do I choose or is it fate
Is it just some chemistry?
Maybe emotional habit
Taken from childhood habitually.

Rollercoasting on emotions
Habits of being abused;
Always taking blame for others
Not realising I've been used.

How do I learn to love
What place do I have to go;
Is it possible to learn about love
To take lessons-I don't know!

Can't fight someone's addiction
Be smart not to try;
Fix them or stop them
You will end up and cry.

Learned behaviours
Are all very well;
Watch and learn how
And then you can tell.

Drama after drama
That makes you feel alive;
Feeling anything at all
Is better than nothing I connive.

Was it adoration
Or was it just lust;
Being controlled by the flesh
Want to go back - is a must!

Not good for your health
Or your happiness too;
Better off apart
That stands for both of you!

Grappling with emotion is
A very tiring exercise;
It isn't love either
So I'll say my goodbyes.

Spring is in the air
Sprinkling ones with love;
Or is it just sprigs and sprucing
And a bounce on the mattress above.

If that is all there is
Then there's nothing more to say;
I'm looking for the real thing
And you're not it-Good Day!

If I want to find a word
I know just where to look;
When I've looked for love
I can't find it in a book.

I've tried the tested recipe
The food and wine of love
Spent nights dreaming you're the one
But this now falling well short of.

The chemistry that fizzled
With fireworks galore;
Lasted for a while
Now I'm walking out that door.

I've got to leave you, I've got to go
I can't stand this anymore;
I don't know where our love went
I don't know anything for sure.

Except that this won't get any better
No matter what we try;
I am so very sorry you know
And baby-please don't cry!

If tears could mend our broken hearts
We would be tickety-boo!
We would love and laugh forever
But you and I both know that's not true.

As a chapter closes in your life,
And a new one starts for you,
May your years be filled with all the things
You've been looking forward to!

Parting can be such sweet sorrow
Thos famous words were said;
Personally it hurts to much
So we'll put that saying into bed.

Nothing sweet abut ripping out
My heart along with more;
Every cell of my inner self is shouting out
My heart and soul is sore.

To leave is not a choice
It's a must with no way out;
Doesn't matter what we do
Or how we scream and shout.

I don't like the waiting
This waiting for the end;
If only God would hurry up
And one of his angels send.
