New Year Poems

**

Welcome to this page of New Year Poems and I would like to be the first to wish you the Healthiest, Happiest and most fulfilling year to you and your loved ones. May this New Year's Eve find you seated around the table, together with your beloved family and cherished friends. May you find the food better, the environment quieter, the cost much cheaper, and the pleasure much more fulfilling than anything else you might ordinarily do that night.

A dry January to start with

And fitness duty to begin;

Eating healthy foods we need

Throwing cartons in the bin.

Swear box nearly full already

Recycle bin full of junk;

Walking boots at the ready

Feeling better losing gunk.

Fresh air & sunshine

To blow the blues away;

As headaches are less & less

Feeling better every day.

Going to save this year

As the changes come into force;

So party time can still take place

Every now'n'again of course.

May this year begin anew

As only time will tell;

That health & happiness be yours

And all of us be well.

As we leave the old behind
Some will think it was bliss;
There are plenty of others though
Who would gladly have given it a miss.

So may this New Year hold for us
Good health and lots of cheer;
Full of love and laughter
Topped up with many a cool beer.

Many days to try your best

To put your wrongs all to rest;

Apologies to those who need

To undo a dirty deed.

Another day, another dollar

No need to pull upon my collar;

All above board from now on

I will prove to be a worthy one.

Fresh starts are here for all

January starts the call;

Many days are three six five

And through them all I will strive.

Maggie-May

May your hair, your teeth, your face-lift,
your abs and your stocks not fall;
and may your blood pressure, your triglycerides,
your cholesterol, your white blood count and
your mortgage interest not rise.

New Year Poems

**

Another year I enter its history unknown;
Oh, how my feet would tremble to tread its paths alone!
But I have heard a whisper, I know I shall be blest;
"My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest."

What will the New Year bring me? I may not, must not know;
Will it be love and rapture, or loneliness and woe?
Hush! Hush! I hear His whisper;I surely shall be blest;
"My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest."

Another year is dawning,dear master, let it be,
In working, or in waiting, another year with thee.

Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness in the shining of thy face.

Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving thy presence all the days.

Another year of service, of witness of thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above.

Another year is dawning,dear master, let it be
On earth, or else in heaven another year for thee.
Francis Ridley Havergal

**

Then sing, young hearts that are full of cheer
With never a thought of sorrow;
The old goes out, but the glad young year
Comes merrily in tomorrow
Emily Miller

A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.
Edgar A. Guest

New Year Poems

**

Your Merry Christmas may depend on what others do for you. But your Happy New Year depends on what you do for others.

**

Glory to God in highest heaven,
Who unto man His Son hath given;
While angels sing with tender mirth,
A glad new year to all the earth
Martin Luther King

**

And may we live in a world at peace and with the awareness of God's love in every sunset, every flower's unfolding petals, every baby's smile, every lover's kiss, and every wonderful, astonishing, miraculous beat of our heart.

Where have all the those years gone?

Another year has just slipped by
To join those that have also gone
Seasons come and seasons go in perpetuity
And the sun and moon with no sign of ageing.
They are just comically there
Winter,Spring, summer and autumn.
Day and night, old age in cosmic terms
Is not a blight, it’s only man of all the species
Of the land, sea and air
When no longer young.
Ask the age-old question
Where have all those years gone?
William Banks

New Year Poems

**
May what you see in the mirror delight you,
and what others see in you delight them.
May someone love you enough to forgive your faults,
be blind to your blemishes,
and tell the world about your virtues.

Another year I enter
Its history unknown;
Oh, how my feet would tremble
To tread its paths alone!
But I have heard a whisper,
I know I shall be blest;
"My presence shall go with thee,
And I will give thee rest."

What will the New Year bring me?
Will it be love and rapture,
Or loneliness and woe?
Hush! Hush! I hear His whisper;
I surely shall be blest;
"My presence shall go with thee,
And I will give thee rest."
