Teachers come in all shapes and sizes
Some are called Mum and Dad;
Everyone within our lives teach us something
Let's hope it's good and not the bad.
School time is good for character building
Learning all the A B C's;
But most of all the different traits
And what you make of these.
The kindness and the patience that teacher brings
The qualities and skills to overcome;
Visions so that we understand how
A lot of things are done.
Thank You from the bottom of my heart
For the skills you gave to me;
Most of all the reading and writing
Now I can learn anything you see.
"Thank You" for your patience, your love, but above all
the skills that helped me see and understand and will
now remember because it has gone into my consciousness.<
So lets celebrate "Teachers Day"
Nothing limits achievement like small thinking;
nothing expands possibilities like unleashed imagination.
William Arthur Ward
A child is not a vessel to be filled,
but a lamp to be lit.
All kids need is a little help,
a little hope
and somebody who believes in them.
T is for talented that you surely are
E is for explaining so patiently
A is for the ability to make the class fun
C is for correcting us when we were wrong
H is for helping us in every way
E is for encouraging us to do our best
R is for rare, there is only one of you!
So thank you special teacher; we think you're great too!
"If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his
office at one time, all of whom had different needs,
and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job."
Donald D. Quinn
God Made Teachers
God understood our thirst for knowledge,
and our need to be led by someone wiser;
He needed a heart of compassion,of encouragement,
Someone who would accept the challenge regardless
of the opposition;
Someone who could see potential
and believe in the best in others . . .
So He made Teachers
Thank you (Miss ...... for all you've done
For teaching all I need to know
I'll all remember you most fondly
No matter where I go.
For teaching children lessons,
to help them as they grow,
Let this gift remind you,
You're the best teacher we know!
Children are like wet cement
Whatever falls on them makes an impression.
I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
the tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child
Could never be sold or bought!
And each agreed she would have failed
if she had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school,
and behind the teacher stood the home!
Cleo V. Swarat
All we need to engage is a hook
It can be music or whatever to stir the soul;
It can help us to focus and attend with our mind
So that we can work hard and reach our goal.
WHOSE CHILD IS THIS?
"Whose child is this?" I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play;
"Mine", said the parent with a tender smile,
"Mine to keep a little while.
To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear;
To prepare him that he may always be good
And each day do the things he should"
"Whose child is this?" I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in;
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile
"Mine, to keep just for a little while
To teach him how to be gentle and kind
To train and direct his dear little mind;
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school"
"Whose child is this?" I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
"Ours" said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child
"Ours to love and train together
Ours this blessed task forever."
To bring up a child in the way he should go,
Travel that way yourself once in a while.
It is not enough to have a good mind;
the main thing is to use it well.
The mind is like a parachute
it works only when it is open.
Once children realize that their minds matter;
It makes a difference to how they learn
it reinforces the enjoyment and the impact of the experience of learning.
Daniel J Siegel MD
Education is discovering the brain... Anyone who does not have a thorough, holistic grasp of the brains architecture, purposes, and main ways of operating is as far behind with the times as an automobile designer without a full understanding of engines.
The attentive, caring and wise voice of a supportive adult gets internalized and becomes part of the youths own voice.

Children are born true scientists. They spontaneously experiment, experience and re-experience again...
They smell, taste, bite, and touch test for hardness, softness, springiness, roughness, smoothness, coldness and warmness.
R Buckminster Fuller
A thank you teacher poem
I really now appreciate
You made me learn thro' fun.
Thank you very very much (Miss Giles)
For all you've said and done.
Pupils never forget a teacher
Whether good or bad, that's true
But it's with the fondest of affection
That I'll remember you
You were the only one
Whoever put faith in me;
You said I could and can
Be anything I wanted to be.
You gave me the courage
I didn't know I had;
Where all the others thought
That I was just bad.
I was bored and misunderstood
That's all that was wrong with me;
I can't believe how naughty I was
It was you that helped me see.
Just a little message
I've never had many words;
But for you my bestest teacher
My english has been stirred.
I can't thank you enough
Although I know I've stretched;
Your patience and your skills
On my memory you are etched.
Two special words are Thank You
They don't sound near enough;
But that's all you're going to get
And you have them with my love.
I know the world is round
I know my alphabet;
I'm trying to learn french
But there's bits I just don't get.
You listened, prodded and pushed
When my poor brain really hurt;
There were times I hated you
When sometimes you were curt.
Now I realise you were doing your job
No matter how hard it was for me;
I can only say Thank you now
I've passed with honors and degree.
I can get the job I want
All of it's down to you;
You encouraged me so much
A very big THANK YOU!
There are many teachers out there
Who wouldn't do what you did;
Extra free tuition times when
You had other things to do,you hid.
You gave yourself in all you did
That meant so much to me;
I gave you my full attention
Now I've passed all successfully.
It's been a long time now
Since you first held me;
You've been so wonderful
How can I ever thank thee.
I promise I will do my best
To be the person that you wish;
So that you'll be proud
Of all that I accomplish.
I thank you for your love
Your patience and your time;
You never stopped loving me
Even when I whined.
You are the very best parents
Anyone could ever hope to have;
I will always be so proud
To have parents about whom I can rave.
